Biography
Arthur C. Schwaninger, trained as a computational scientist at ETH Zurich, published in computational biology and physical chemistry before becoming captivated by philosophy. Intrigued by computational approaches to philosophical questions, he pursued a second Master’s in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, delving into metaphysics and the philosophy of science. At LMU Munich, Arthur researched paradoxes like the sorites paradox and their connection to brain categorisation and perception. This led him to the Human Brain Project, where he developed predictive processing models of the visual cortex and conducted large-scale simulations. After publishing several articles and earning his PhD with summa cum laude honours in 2022 from the University of Zurich, Arthur engaging in other areas of artificial intelligence such as Responsible AI.
